March Goals / What I actually did in February
I took the month off of programming instead to write a comprehensive GDD. I wanted to get a better sense of the game's scope, and build out the world some more before moving further ahead. It's been a productive month, despite having little to show for it outside the notebook.
The fundamental premise of the game has expanded somewhat;
"In a hyper-Capitalist alternate 1996 without the Internet, Humanity is connected by The Reifier, an open-source Virtual Reality platform accessible only through sleep and dreaming. As you explore what's left of the nearly-abandoned "real world", your survival in The Big City as a Laundromat Manager is complicated by an invasion of strange bugs."
The GDD consists of a dozen character sketches, 6 cult-like factions, and assorted articles on aspects of Big City Life & the alternate timeline's history. I'm pretty excited about where all this is going.
March will be dedicated to completing a grant application and doing 50% of the lingering demo update's To-Do's. If this grant is approved, we'll be bringing on some new people the fall of 2022 to help complete the project which will be amazing! Other than that, I can't say much more about it without jinxing things.
